ASALH, The Association for the Study of African American Life & History, was established by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, to promote, research, interpret and disseminate information about Black life, history and culture to all.

Ages 0-5. Drop by our Imagination Room for low-sensory free-play. Play with our toys or bring your own! Caregivers are encouraged to participate in intentional hands-on play with their child.

Age 16+. This course centers the experiences of African Americans as we spend time with stories, movies, and written personal accounts, asking the question: What does it mean to be free?

Age 8 - 17. Would you like to learn to crochet? This class welcomes beginners and intermediate crocheters wanting to start their fiber arts journey! Enroll using the form below or call 407-623-3300 ext. 3.

All ages. Big imagination meets small canvas! Create your own miniature work of art in this crafting class, while supplies last. Your tiny art work can be displayed in the Tiny Art Gallery, June 9th-July 3.

Grades 5-12. Embark on an exciting journey into the world of comics and zines! Weave stories, create captivating characters, and bring your ideas to life through words and illustrations in this four-part workshop.

Ages 18+. Learn the forms, shapes and compositions of crystals, health benefits, and practical uses from local crystal experts. Partnership with Loving Thyself Rocks.

Ages 3 - 5 years. Preschoolers will enjoy listening and learning through stories, song, and play. We encourage full and active participation of the accompanying adult. Duration: 30 minutes

Ages 3-9. This jumping, juggling dynamo engages you in awesome music, physical feats with balls of all sizes, leaf blowers, giant suits, invites audience participation and provides lots of side-splitting laughter.

Ages 2-5. Wear your favorite pair of pajamas and join Ms.

Ages 21+. Come share your passion for happily-ever-after with fellow romance story lovers in this new book club! Whether you prefer historical, contemporary, paranormal, sweet, or spicy romance, we’ve got you covered.

Learn gentle chair Yoga movement, breathing and meditation, and science based HeartMath® self-regulation techniques for managing stress and building resilience.

Ages 3-18. Unwind with therapy dogs while you give them some love and they give you doggy kisses.

Ages 18+. We’ll examine how Joan Hassall’s illustrations of Jane Austen’s novels for The Folio Society’s editions in the 1950's and 60's captured the elegance and social intricacies of Austen’s world with refined line-drawings.

Ages 18+. Writers, bring your writing instruments of choice, along with any other writing supplies. The write-in will be timed sprints with short breaks in between. We can’t wait to write with you! Partnership with Writers’ Atelier.

Our Year With Jane Austen continues with a screening of the 1995 adaptation of Persuasion.
