The Memory Lab is the Library’s center of historical research, digitization, and preservation. Regardless of whether you need assistance finding a way to physically preserve your family’s items or wish to transform your documents, negatives, slides, photographs, and VHS’s to digital files, the Winter Park Library is with you every step of the way.

We aim to provide the community with the rare technologies and resources to help the community effectively and affordably reach their roots and preserve their history while simultaneously breaking down the most ubiquitous barrier of all: Cost.

Appointments made via our digital reservation system must be made 48 hours in advanced, to inquire about same day equipment reservation call: 407-623-3300 ext. 2070.
Rules of Conduct:
- NO FOOD is allowed in the Memory Lab.
- NO cell phone calls, are allowed in the Memory Lab; please take your call outside of the Memory Lab.
- Be aware that the Memory Lab is not a “silence-guaranteed” space due to ongoing research Archival activities. Staff voice volume will vary, depending on patron’s need. If you require complete silence, we recommend using noise canceling headphones.
- Speak softly and respect fellow patrons working in the Memory Lab.
- Service animals are permitted in the Memory Lab, however, no pets or emotional support animals are allowed.
- Patron research questions without an appointment will be limited to 15 minutes. If the research or question requires more than that, a patron will need to make an appointment.
- The Memory Lab will close occasionally for classes, we ask patrons to leave the Lab 15 minutes prior to class start time.
- Memory Lab equipment is not available when a staff member is not present.
- Memory Lab computers are NOT available for general use unless the Computer Lab is closed for a class.
- Memory Lab staff will not assist with the input of financial or private data for patrons.
- Memory Lab equipment is only available for walk-ins when no other appointment has been made.
- All Memory Lab equipment is available by appointment online for full-service card holders only. Reciprocal cardholders and the general public may make appointments via email or phone.
