ASALH, The Association for the Study of African American Life & History, was established by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, to promote, research, interpret and disseminate information about Black life, history and culture to all.

Ages 0-5. Drop by our Imagination Room for low-sensory free-play. Play with our toys or bring your own! Caregivers are encouraged to participate in intentional hands-on play with their child.

Grades 5-12. Brighten someone’s day with these magical greeting cards. Students will learn to create a card that transforms from a black and white line drawing to full color art before their very eyes!

Grades 8-12. Customize your own flavorful naan pizza with Nicole from Aromas of the Kitchen, as you layer fresh ingredients, experiment with bold flavors, and bake a deliciously colorful masterpiece.

Grades 5-7. Create an original animation using Spline 3D modeling software. Sign up for the first class to attend the full series.

Grades 5-12. Embark on an exciting journey into the world of comics and zines! Weave stories, create captivating characters, and bring your ideas to life through words and illustrations in this four-part workshop.

Any person interested in listening to or playing acoustic fingerstyle guitar is welcome to join this free monthly gathering that is free and open to the public. Guests may bring their own guitars and play along with the group or solo. 

Readers meet the third Wednesday of the month to discuss and share insights. All kinds of books are welcome, whether they are fiction, nonfiction, classic or contemporary.

Ages 3-9. WPL staff invite you to share in the fun as they perform their favorite silly songs and stories.

Mystery lovers meet on the third Thursday of the month to discuss what they're reading.
