Week Calendar

This energetic walk (approximately 2-2.5 miles and lasting 45-60 minutes) is for the speed walker in you! Finish with a water break, stretches and discussion. Convene in Library Belvedere.

Ages birth to 12 months; Duration: 20 minutes

Ages 24 - 36 months; Duration: 25 minutes

Entering Kindergartners. Get those pre-kindergarten jitters out by boarding an OCPS school bus and listening to funny school stories. The children will sit on the bus and learn the safety rules from an OCPS bus monitor.

Ages 3 - 5 years; Duration: 30 minutes 

Preschoolers will enjoy listening and learning through stories, song, and play. We encourage full and active participation of the accompanying adult.

Ages 24 - 36 months; Duration: 25 minutes

Gather with other board and card game enthusiasts to play Say Anything, Taboo, Likewise, Word on the Street, Scattergories, Apples to Apples, and more. Card games (Hearts and Spades, Uno, Phase 10) may also be available.

Tweens. Explore the informative power of images and become a PRINTMAKER in this summer workshop!  

Ages 13 - 36 months. Paint, glue, color and create! Young children will enjoy stories, songs and exploring age-appropriate art experiences.

Celebrate shark week with an encore presentation of Jaws (1975). 

Ages 3 - 12. Ahoy there, matey! Set sail with us on a thrilling action-packed pirate adventure and explore the science behind clouds, physical and chemical changes, air pressure, and more. 

Ages 3 - 9. Hear the author read from his book, Indy and Jenny, a heartwarming story about an injured pit bull terrier and the loving woman who rescued him.

Learn how to make mini books and how to use them to track your reading! Supplies provided. 

The rapid development of social media, cloud computing, and online ads have created a new frontier for how your personal data is stored and used.

Teens. Explore the informative power of images and become a PRINTMAKER in this summer workshop!  

K - Grade 4. Take part in hands-on, minds-on exploration of science, technology, engineering and math concepts. Together we'll explore, create and discover through challenges, experiments and projects.

Interested in recording your own music or spoken-word project? Come learn recording basics!  Your Library has a brand-new recording studio available to full-service cardholders to help you get that project off the ground. 

Students age 5+ may read to the "Be An Angel Therapy Dogs" and earn paw stamps towards free books and a t-shirt. Enrollment required per child! Partnership with Be an Angel Therapy Dogs.

Kindergarten-Grade 2. Read for fun and do arts & crafts with Book Buddy teen and tween volunteers. 

Learn how to group apps into folders, move between multiple calendars and emails to achieve powerhouse levels of productivity on your device in this hybrid class. Sign up to receive the session link.

Grades 5-12. Play games on our Xbox, Playstation and Switch.

Games may be rated E, E10+ or T. 

Grades 5-7. Use craft supplies provided by the library to make a miniature glittery shark tank.

Grades 8-12. Practice your sign language skills with other users and learners in this conversational club. All proficiency levels welcome in a judgment-free space.

Grades K-7. Build your imagination and problem-solving abilities with LEGO bricks.

Safeguard your health and future as certified financial planners walk you through various topics.  This month's topic is inflation.

All ages. Wear your favorite PJs and watch a movie on the big screen with family and friends. B.Y.O.S. Bring your own snacks and pillows & blankets, too! Popcorn will be provided. Movies are rated PG.

Grades 5-7. Discuss The Ruins of Gorlan by John Flanagan and enjoy book-related games and activities, and pizza!

Ages 8-Adult. Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting or any type of fiber art? Then this is the club for you. Gather your projects to relax with friends and exchange ideas in this virtual class. Beginner and intermediate crafters welcome.

Have a relaxing night at the library with adult coloring. Coloring supplies provided but feel free to bring your own. 

Rising grades 8-12. Picnic indoors and watch the hilarious Sharknado. What better way to celebrate Shark Week?
