The Salem Witch Trials in 1692 are often highlighted as a bizarre moment in Colonial America; a unique moment born of hysteria and fear that resulted in the death of 25 community members. Come join Professor Heather Bryson to discuss how the trials were not an inexplicable event rooted in anxiety, but rather the result of political, social, and religious impulses that pitted those in dire economic conditions against those with money and power.
