Learn how to turn yard and kitchen waste into organic matter to use as a soil amendment, mulch, and potting soil. By composting, you can help reduce your overall landfill contribution and make organic matter able to improve the chemical, physical and biological characteristics of your soils!

The City of Winter Park's Natural Resources and Sustainability Department is offering FREE backyard composters to Winter Park Residents.

To become eligible, you must meet the following requirements:

1) Must reside within the City of Winter Park Boundary. Check your eligibility by viewing a map of the City of Winter Park Boundary.

2) Residents must attend one of our upcoming Introduction to Composting classes being led by UF/IFAS Extension Orange County.

This program is sponsored by City of Winter Park Natural Resources and Sustainability Department, the Winter Park Library and UF/IFAS Extension Orange County. Non-residents welcome though they will not be eligible to receive a FREE composter.
