Program Description

Details

The Nineteenth Amendment, which granted women the right to vote in the United States, was the effect of a cross-generational battle for the ballot.  This fight, as Elizabeth Cady Stanton put it, was not a movement but "a rebellion.” On the eve of our next election, please join us and participate in the Winter Park Library’s historical series, "Past Meets Present" where we will hear Valencia College Professor Dr. Heather Bryson share, "To Inaugurate Nothing Less than a Rebellion", an examination of the history of the suffrage movement as well as its implications in the United States today.

Partnership with Valencia College.
