Grades 5-7. Discover the art exhibition "Critical Reading: Book Arts in Dialogue with the Collection" and then create a series of maze books, each from a single sheet of paper, while learning how different cuts and folds impact the book's layout, demonstrating unique variations in storytelling.
Stephanie Rodriguez is a book and textile artist who repurposes mass-produced and found objects to create works that evoke nostalgia for shared personal experiences. She received an Associate of Arts Degree at Valencia College before completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at the University of Central Florida. In addition to exploring traditional book construction using repurposed pop-culture ephemera and personal keepsakes she also teaches a variety of fiber art related classes at Orlando Public Library. These classes include instruction on sewing, crochet, and hand embroidery.
Partnership with the Rollins Museum of Art.
