Ghanaian author Kwame Dawes is a writer of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and plays including, Nebraska, Bivouac, and City of Bones: A Testament. His poetry collection, Nebraska, fixated on ideas of place and the feeling of displacement. He is Glenna Luschei Editor of Prairie Schooner and Chancellor’s Professor of English at the University of Nebraska. Dawes is a faculty member in the Pacific MFA Program, Director of the African Poetry Book Fund and Artistic Director of the Calabash International Literary Festival. Dawes is also a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets. Partnership with Atlantic Center for the Arts.
