Art Sparks: An Opportunity for Young Artists

By: Grace Moore, Tween Librarian

March 28, 2024

Inspired by the success of the Library’s annual Art Happens Teen Art Show, the Art Sparks Youth Art Exhibition launches this year to feature works by younger artists. The exhibition will feature 35 paintings, drawings, and mixed media projects from kids in grades 3-7.

The art will be on display at the Center for Health and Wellbeing from March 22 to April 21, with an awards reception on Wednesday, April 17 at 6:00 p.m. The Best in Show and Honorable Mention winners will receive award ribbons and mixed media art sets.

Looking for more ways to engage the young artists in your life? Be sure to save the date for Maker Day 2024 this July 11, 1:00-4:00 pm when the library will fill with art, gardening, and technology activities for all ages. In the meantime, check out art books and SmART Boxes, and attend creative arts classes all year long!
